Sandbar Bed and Breakfast - Personalized Service
Innkeeper
The innkeeper, Cara Parker, is available to assist guests with dinner and sporting reservations, theater tickets and times, and to accommodate special requests including birthday cakes and balloons, flowers and chocolates, wine or champagne… or any specialty service you require!
Deluxe Continental Breakfast
Our deluxe continental breakfast is included in the room rate and is served each morning from 8 am until 10:00 am. Breakfast includes English muffins or bagels; pastries or sweet breads, dough nuts or muffins; oatmeal, cream of wheat and grits; cold cereal and milk; yogurt and fruit; coffee and hot tea. We are happy to accommodate guests who prefer breakfast earlier or later.
Evening Refreshment
In the evening, usually around 4:00 pm, we serve an evening refreshment. Service includes red and white wine, assorted crackers, cheese and fruit. Sweet tea, lemonade or club soda is available upon request. The evening refreshment is included in the room rate. This is an informal event, as people are usually coming and going at their own pace from the beach, to dinner, etc... We don't stand on ceremony at the Sandbar!
Going Green
At the Sandbar we make an effort to practice green cleaning to accommodate sensitive guests. Rooms are cleaned with Seventh Generation products and regular household vinegar and ammonia. Laundry is washed with Charlie's Soap, which is certified non-toxic, hypo-allergenic and biodegradable and is made locally in North Carolina: www.charliessoap.com.
Picnic on the Beach
A “Picnic on the Beach” packed by the innkeeper is available to all guests for a small charge. Picnic includes sandwiches, drinks, fruit, cheese and crackers packed in a basket. Picnics are perfect for moonlight strolls or fun family dinners. Call Innkeeper to plan menu.
For Guest Use
We have three bicycles available for the complimentary use of our guests, as well as our “For the Beach” closet that includes beach chairs, floating toys, buckets and shovels, goggles, balls and more! Charcoal grills are provided for outdoor cooking. There are chairs by the private pool for lounging, as well as patio furniture out of the sun. We have a great selection of paperbacks and puzzles are available.
Personal Training
We offer personal training on the beach with Daniel Althoff, an ISSA certified fitness trainer. Dan specializes in all terrain fitness with no limitations. He will personalize your session to simplify your experience and help you reconnect with nature. Whether you want use your vacation as a first step to finally focusing on your fitness or as a way to keep from getting soft while away, Dan is a premier Outer Banks trainer ready to customize your workout. Sessions range from sunrise yoga with the waves to boot camp on the beach… You choose your level!

Free Parking
You don't win the jackpot like when playing Monopoly, but you are welcome to park for free at the Sandbar. There is a u-shaped drive-way in front of the inn available for guest use, as well as a small lot between the inn and Something Fishy - the guest shop next door. Both are available for guest use at all times.
